Compressed Air Leak Detector

Waste, of any kind, has a negative impact on company finances. For this reason, it is essential to implement appropriate control protocols on systems in order to prevent losses as much as possible. Compressed air in particular, if not used correctly, can generate enormous waste and consequently create financial holes—even large ones—for the companies that use it (practically a huge number). So what can be done to limit the damage caused by waste?
A solution does exist and is called ‘leak detection’. What is it and how does it work? ‘Leak detection’ is a fairly simple operation and, if properly applied to compressed air systems, can save companies a considerable amount of money. Suffice it to say that, based on data collected using the ‘before and after’ methodology, it has been found that the savings for the company – compared to an initial investment in leak detection tools that is fairly modest and can be amortized in a single year – can be as high as €50,000 per year! The leak detection system in question is called Sdt and is so accurate and efficient because it uses ultrasound technology: a solution that has proven to be highly effective in leak testing, predictive maintenance, leak detection, and automatic system quality control. But the highly innovative feature of the Sdt system, the one that can save the company money, is its ability to identify and consequently provide a ‘global’ solution to the problem detected. This means that this control and diagnostic system offers all the tools and suggestions for applying the technology and also provides training and refresher courses with relevant certification. In short, it is the manufacturers themselves who recommend equipping compressed air systems with leak detection and control systems.
