Compressors for the Medical Sector

Compressors for the Medical Sector

By Germana Falcone

Medical air is considered by the European Pharmacopoeia—and rightly so—to be a genuine medicine that plays a vital role, especially for patients in intensive care. This brief definition alone gives a clear idea of the type of air that must be guaranteed in this case: obviously, the highest quality! And, of course, the compressors used for this purpose must be strictly oil-free. In addition, the possible risks that may arise from any type of system malfunction and, in general, from any anomaly must be minimized. Taking these fundamental parameters into account, and above all the delicate task that these compressors will have to perform, two leading companies in the sector have decided to combine their expertise to produce a range of oil-free compressors of excellence. The companies in question are Atlas Copco and BeaconMadaes: both have poured all their experience and professionalism, the result of years in the compressed air compressor manufacturing sector, into this project. The proposed range, as already mentioned, is completely oil-free, designed to offer the certainty of no oil carryover within the medical air network. In this way, they can guarantee the highest possible quality of medical air. But of course, in order to offer such guarantees on the product, the compressors have been subjected to extremely rigorous testing and all models in the range have obtained ISO 8573-1 Class certification from a third party. This means that those who use these compressors can do so with complete peace of mind, as this certification is intended to declare the total absence of oil from the compressors. In addition, Atlas Copco is a company known above all for its innovative products and services, offering solutions for increasingly sustainable productivity.
