Reverse Engineering at Riem: Our Process
Ottobre 23, 2017
Riem is a company that operates in the sale, maintenance, and repair of process machines (large reciprocating and screw compressors, also from production plant maintenance departments). This is a very delicate sector, considering that this type of machine is used in companies to manufacture a wide variety of products (including food and medical products).
It is therefore a job that requires great attention and care. It is no coincidence that Riem is considered a leading company in this sector, where it has been operating since 1976: its vast experience and professionalism enable it to satisfactorily meet the compressed air system maintenance needs of a wide range of companies, from multinationals to small businesses.
Riem Italy is also at the forefront of the sector in terms of the use of the most sophisticated maintenance methods. Such as the‘Reverse Engineering’ process. What exactly is this? Thanks to the use of technically advanced and complex instruments, Riem carries out an in-depth study of certain parts of the machine to be replicated: once the correct chemical composition, hardness level, shape, and dimensions of the part have been identified, and using 3D digitization processes, all the data collected can be used in reverse engineering.
This software is capable of faithfully reproducing the parts, installed on numerically controlled machines. At this point, the requested parts, which have been reproduced flawlessly and faithfully to the original to be replaced, are ready to be used and mounted on the machines. But Riem’s great professionalism does not end there: each part reproduced using the reverse engineering process is accompanied by a certificate that guarantees all stages of its production, the chemical composition of the material used, and the manufacturing processes employed.
