Compressor Market Trends in Italy
Dicembre 11, 2017
The trend in the compressor market in Italy has recently given rise to conflicting opinions. Some argue that this type of market is, at least in our country, on a downward trend. Others, however, firmly believe that the electric compressor market in Italy is actually growing steadily. So what is the real situation? And how can we navigate this market? The statistics in this case speak for themselves: in Italy, we are seeing an annual growth in compressor sales of 2%.
The percentage is therefore positive. However, we must take into account the fact that the compressor sales market is quite multifaceted and therefore, in order to fully understand its trends and development potential, it needs to be analyzed more carefully. Take, for example, sales of compressors below 30kW: in this case, there has been a decline in sales.
The reason is obvious: many companies are unable to plan their future investments thoroughly and therefore, finding themselves in economic difficulty, tend to purchase cheaper, lower-quality compressors. On the other hand, however, there are many other companies that have understood that greater attention must be paid right from the purchase stage—and therefore investments in machinery suited to the workload and type of production—in order to minimize waste and gain in terms of efficiency.
However, this virtuous process must be activated upstream: companies must turn to honest and knowledgeable salespeople and professionals in the sector who are able to provide the best advice to avoid unnecessary production slowdowns and economic waste. For example, if a compressor is broken, it may actually be a simple component failure, so it is necessary to identify and replace only that component and not repurchase the entire machine.
