Today we are going to take a closer look at a company that operates in the compressed air sector, Riem Italy. This company’s business is divided into two main areas: one typically commercial, the other dedicated to after-sales services. The commercial area mainly deals with sales of production, i.e., the treatment and distributionof compressed air. At the same time, this commercial area also offers the rental of dryers and compressors for industry.

However, Riem Italy’s real core business is after-sales services: an activity that has allowed the company to expand not only nationally but also internationally (to the extent that it exhibits at the prestigious Hannover trade fair). Taking a look at Riem’s offering, you can find gasket kits for maintenance on oil-free compressors, on-board shell and tube heat exchangers (also for oil-free compressors), drums for adsorption dryers, electronic control panels, the ‘Sentinel’ remote monitoring system for compressor operating parameters, and much more.

Even at first glance, it is clear that Riem Italy has made significant investments in research and development. This strong corporate commitment has paid off: the quality of Riem’s products has been certified by TÜV as ‘Class Zero’ and recognised with a patent that makes them exclusive.

Riem has also started a compressor unit repair business, which allows for recovery with greatly reduced maintenance costs. In practice, this involves ‘reconditioning to zero hours’ the original equipment compression units, thus avoiding complete replacement – with obvious benefits for companies that use this type of machinery. The aforementioned ‘Sentinel’ system, developed by Riem Italy in close collaboration with the University of L’Aquila, allows the operating parameters of the compressors to be monitored entirely remotely.
